Red Dog Poker
The game of Red Dog Poker is a variation of the game Acey-duecey also called in-between. Although not an extremely popular game there are some online casinos that offer it.
All the cards in a standard deck are ranked the same as in poker. The suit of the card is irrelevant and aces are always the high cards.
To start the game, each player places a wager. Once all players have made their bets the dealer places two cards face-up on the table. If the 2 cards are consecutive cards then it is a push.
Example: 7-8, J-Q, etc.
If the two cards are equal then a third card is played, if the 3rd card is a match to the 2 original cards then the dealer pays 11:1 odds. Other than an equal card the hand is a push.
If the 2 cards are not consecutive or equal then the dealer will announce a spread (which is equal to the number of card values between the cards).
Example: 4-9 then the spread would be 5
Once the spread is announced each player has the opportunity to increase their wagers up to the amount of the original bet. Now the 3rd card is dealt, if it falls between the values of the 1st two cards the player wins. If it falls outside the the 1st two cards the player loses.
