US BANS INTERNET GAMBLING

Under the cover of night the Unlawful Internet Gambling Law was passed. Without any real debate on the floor of Congress the bill was attached to a necessary US Security Bill regarding Port Security. Senator Bill Frists move was not only underhanded but completely expected considering the GOP's methods of getting what they want done. US Senators who held the belief that American citizen's are entitled to do what they want in their own homes with their own after tax income had no choice to but either abstain or vote through the Port Security Bill. This maneuvering stunk of GOP right wing Bible belt piety ripe with the smell of scandal barely faded from earlier claims of corruption.

On November 7, 2006 Americans across the country showed their disgust for the misguided Republicans and sweep the democrats into power with both the majority of the House of Congress and the Senate. Some believe it was the online gaming advocates who worked diligently to get the word out that this was a repeat of the 1930's prohibition movement. Americans responded and with that decided it was time to take back the freedom of choice. We shall see in the near future how the Democrats will respond to the multitudes of gamblers online. Whether they will make the wise choice to allow individuals to take responsibility for their own action on their own time and in turn collect the billions of tax dollars in the industry by following the UK and regulating internet gambling.

We hope that those Americans who believe they are entitled to spend their quality time doing something they enjoy in the comfort and security of their own home speak up and let your Senators know where you stand on the Unlawful Internet Gambling Bill.
